My Go-To Smoothie: Banana, Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Coffee // 24 Carrot Life

My friend, Ari, and I are training for the Broad Street Run on May 2nd. Broad Street is a 10-mile run that is very popular in Philadelphia and this will be my first time running it. I’m not much of a runner since I prefer other types of exercise instead, but lately I’ve been running once or twice a week. Ari is the perfect running buddy for me since we both have the same pace and motivate each other.

Yesterday we ran 7.5 miles as our last long run before the big day, and I was so hungry all day. I think I basically undid all my hard work because I ate every two hours after the run. I probably should have made this smoothie, since it is my absolute favorite! Instead I ate everything else. I feel a little bit like I’m cheating on my The Best Green Smoothie Ever, but on most days this pb and chocolate mixture takes the cake as my favorite smoothie.

I love this smoothie as breakfast or an afternoon snack since it has all the perfect snack criteria: protein, healthy fat, carbs, and a little energy boost from espresso. It’s also a perfect post-workout meal/snack for this reason!

It’s easy to make, I always have the ingredients on hand, and obviously it’s delicious too. I’m hungry just looking at these pictures- off to eat again!

What is your go-to smoothie?
